Meet the Maker
Color has always been my inspiration, whether dyeing fabric, creating monoprints or working with encaustic (wax medium). Color is the way I express who I am as an artist. All of my work is hand crafted. My wall hangs and encaustic journals are a one-of-a-kind piece of art, no two are alike. I love being able to share my love of color, fabric and wax through the creating of my wall hangings and journals.
How it’s Made
I start by layering the substrate with encaustic medium and add additional color using pan pastels and oil sticks. I continue layering encaustic medium, often creating texture using an accretion technique.
